3 YORUBA ACTORS WHO ARE SUSSESFUL IN AMERICA

The Nigerian movie industry is quite competitive due to the amount of talented actors in Nollywood. Many actors have left Nigeria for developed countries but after they relocated, their relevance in the movie industry diminished. However, the story is not the same for all of them; as some of them have continued to entertain their fans despite the fact that they are no longer based in Nigeria.

This article is about three actors who are based in the United States of America but are still relevant in the Yoruba movie industry.

1) Tunde Owokoniran:




Owokoniran is a talented actor who rose to stardom under the tutelage of Odunlade Adekola. Meeting Odunlade Adekola had a huge impact on his career; it was Adekola who gave him the chance to explore his talent. Popularly known as Tunde Tilapia, Owokoniran became popular through some Yoruba movies like Penkele mess, Sunday Dagboru and Ilu Alujo among others.




In 2016, Tunde got married to his wife, Tunmise Akinwansola at the Naim Islamic Centre in the United States of America. Getting married to his US based wife was one of the major reasons why Tunde had to leave Nigeria for America. After he left Nigeria, many people thought his acting career would die down; but the dark-skinned actor still features in Yoruba movies produced in the US. Asides from movies, he makes short skits for his fans on Instagram. These movies and skits have made him stay relevant in the movie industry despite his new location.




Tunde is still happily married to his wife, Tunmise and they are blessed with children. From his pictures, it is evident that Tunde Owokoniran is having a good time in America.

2) Tawa Ajisefini Alli:




Tawa Ajisefinni Alli is a talented actor with a very huge fan base. She became very popular after she produced her movie, monkele. Tawa has a good sense of humor; and this is a trait that endears her fans towards her. Marriage was also a major contributing factor to her relocation to the United States of America. After she got married to the love of her life, Mr Alli in 2019; she relocated to live with him in America.



Like Tunde Owokoniran, relocating didn’t stop her featuring in Yoruba movies produced in the US. Asides from this, she entertains her fans through her Instagram posts and funny short videos on Instagram.




It is also important to note that, America has been good to Tawa Ajisefini as she became more beautiful with a glowing skin after she left Nigeria.

3) Yomi Gold




Talented actor, Yomi Gold has been in the US for a while now. He is also one of those actors who didn’t allow relocation affect his acting career. As a resident of the United States of America, he has featured in several Yoruba movies produced there. The actor is still very active on the movie scene as he seems to be one of the most sought-after actors based in America.




He has featured in many movies that were produced in the US. Like some of his colleagues who are also there, his standard of life changed for the better after he left Nigeria.

2020 UTME: JAMB candidates warned against unapproved institutions, courses

An educationist, Mr. Clement Adebayo, has advised candidates for the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), to be wary of unapproved institutions and unaccredited courses. Adebayo, a retired Principal and Proprietor, Success Academy, Omu-Aran in Kwara, gave the advice on Saturday in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Omu-Aran, Irepodun LGA of Kwara. Adebayo emphasised the need for the candidates to consult widely on the genuineness of available institutions and courses before finalising their choices.
