However, querying the side effect of unemployment to the riders, Peller said the recent ban will help curb accidents and safeguard the lives of Lagos residents. EPL: solskjaer reveals why Woodward was absent for man utd's 0-0 draw with wolves

Image
Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has insisted that the club’s executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward, is not deliberately avoiding matches. Woodward’s house was attacked by fans on Tuesday, but the American went ahead to seal two late transfers before January’s deadline. Bruno Fernandes arrived in a deal that could reach £67.7million, while Odion Ighalo agreed to a six-month loan move. Supporters threatened to walk out in the 68th minute of Saturday’s clash with Wolves, in protest at the Glazer family’s running of the club. That walk-out never materialised, though, with Woodward’s empty seat attracting more attention. When asked if Woodward’s no-show was to avoid becoming a distraction, Solskjaer told the media: “Well, no, I don’t think so. He had other commitments so that’s alright. “I must say, there’s been loads written, loads of talk, about the fans and our fans before the game and they were unbelievable again. “They supported the team until the end, started off reall...

City have failed to make it past the Champions League quarter-finals in each of his three seasons in charge, losing to Monaco, Liverpool and Tottenham. “We will, of course, not just be judged on the way we play but the titles we win. That is the truth. It is as simple as that,” Guardiola who won the competition twice with Barcelona told reporters. “Last year was an extraordinary one for us but people say, ‘But you didn’t win the Champions League’. That is why I will be judged, if we don’t win it in my final period here, that I will be a failure here. I know that. “But I enjo...

EPL:Ozil's near deadline exit from Arsenal blocked

Image
Arsenal playmaker, Mesut Ozil, almost left the club on transfer deadline day, the UK Mirror reports. The German had an offer from a Qatari club, but the deal fell through with the Gunners blocking his exit. Although Ozil was ready to consider leaving the Emirates, Arsenal felt the timing was too short. It is also understood that manager Mikel Arteta, was willing to let the 31-year-old go, especially as the suitor was going to foot his huge salary. But the timing of the proposed switch left the Gunners with little time to source any source of replacement. Ozil, who was frozen out under Unai Emery, has started every game under Arteta. The former Real Madrid man appears to be enjoying his football again, with Arteta allowing his play in his favour role, roaming behind the attackers.
